Elizabeth Zapata is a Law Graduate from CUNY School of Law.  Before joining the Sex Worker’s Project at Urban Justice Center, she interned and worked for different law organizations that support immigrant communities including the Urban Justice Center’s Domestic Violence Project, Sanctuary for Families, and Catholic Migration Services. Elizabeth’s dedication to immigration work is informed through her own journey; growing up undocumented in New York City and navigation through the immigration system through DACA and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status before becoming a citizen. She holds a bachelor’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Outside of work, she can often be found at the movies, exploring different music venues, and with friends.
