Summer-Fall Bilingual Case Manager Intern – Sex Workers Project

The Summer-Fall 2025 Bilingual Case Management Intern will:
- Provide case management for clients living with HIV/AIDS; help clients connect with medical and mental health care, gender-affirming care, connections with LGBTQ support systems, HASA enrollment and health insurance enrollment.
- Strengthen SWP’s partnerships and referral network with community-based organizations that serve sex workers and people living with HIV/AIDS in New York City, for example The AIDS Center of Queens County (ACQC) and Community Healthcare Network, Mount Sinai Voices in Partnership program, and Voces Latinas, among others.
- Provide supportive counseling for clients as they navigate their immigration processes.
- Provide criminal justice advocacy and immigration case support- help clients obtain certificates of disposition for arrests, collect evidence for asylum hearings, advocate with primary care providers and psychiatrists on behalf of clients to obtain letters confirming diagnoses as evidence to support immigration claims, accompany clients to law enforcement to report crimes.
- Use Legal Server to keep track of notes and work
An Ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Passion and interest in sex workers’ rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, and immigrants’ rights
- Comfort working closely with LGBTQIA+ clients and survivors of trauma
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a case load
