Our Team

SWP staff and consultants are advocates, educators, attorneys, social workers, researchers, defenders, artists, organizers and activists with many years of human rights and social justice movement experience. We are people with direct lived experience working in the sex trades along with allies of sex workers who understand that we need the full spectrum of our human rights respected, protected and promoted rather than saving, rescuing, or reformation.

We are multilingual and multiracial.  We are people of African, Asian, First Nations and European descent.  We are queer, pansexual, trans, genderqueer, cisgender, gay and straight.  We are prioritizing the leadership of sex workers who are Black, Indigenous, and/or Trans.

We are united to end the criminalization and stigmatization of adult consensual sex work, and to create a world in which all workers are free from all forms of exploitation including human trafficking.  As part of broader movements, we are against mass incarceration, racist, transphobic and classist policing, and for the realization of human rights and liberation for all people.
